I know that this day doesn’t bring joy to everyone, whether your
father is still alive and not what he should be, or passed on and this day
brings you pain. Whatever your case may be know that you can have the father
you have always wanted; God is right there! He knows what we need before we ask
Him for it and He takes delight in giving us our desires, but you can’t expect
to reap the benefits of the relationship by saying “thanks” every now and then,
going off and doing what you want, and then come back angry when things don’t
go right.
God out of His love will not bless us if we do not make Him
Lord of our lives (accept Him into our hearts) and are not following Him. He
tries to steer us to Him and away from that which will harm us, but we have the
choice of whether or not we accept Him to be our father. If we do accept Him we
should follow His love letter to us- the Bible- because He knows what is best
for us.
“11 For I know the plansand thoughts
that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace andwell-being
and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then
you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your
voice] and I will listen to you. 13 Then
[with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a
vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your
heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
When we accept God as our Father, and work on our
relationship having that one-on-one time , then we can see the good
plans/things He has for us and walk in the safety of His care. Having a great
relationship with God our Father is what it’s all about!
“5
A father of the fatherless and a judge and protector of the widows,
Is God in His holy habitation.
6
God makes a home for the lonely;
He leads the prisoners into prosperity,
Only the stubborn and rebellious dwell in a parched land.” Psalm 68:5-6

God has blessed me with an earthly father who is pretty
great. He is funny (or thinks he is, jk dad!) works hard and whenever I’m in a
jam he is usually the first one I call. Two times I have gotten lost while
driving and he steered me home. You do not know how happy I was once I finally
turned onto a familiar street!
Father’s Day is a specific day where we can spend a
beautiful time with our Father God telling Him how much we appreciate Him and
look back on all the moments He has been our Father so far this year. We can’t forget all the other 364 days of the
year though! Every day is a day to say thank you, I love you and to rest
assured knowing that you are loved by your Father!
“Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in
mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by
his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus
Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into
the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.”
Ephesians 1:4-6
