Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 2 Timothy 4:2
I LOVE little critters and it doesn't matter what type they are! I think I love them so much because we had an iguana when I was four named Iggy and my parents introduced me to lots of animals. Whenever I see a gecko, baby bird, baby squirrel or any other animal in need I try to help them as much as I can. I have tried many times to get a dog with a collar and tags roaming the streets back to their owner, but they always run away.
Last month this cute gecko that lives under our kitchen window had a injury on his mouth, and my mom and I realized that he was getting thinner and couldn't eat. I wanted to save him and tried to catch him once but he got away. I prayed for the lil guy and sure enough he survived! He still has a lil scar but he is doing ok.
Before Mr. Gecko we helped out 2 toads, Bob Jr and Fat Albert. :) I found one cold and not doing well in our pool at the beginning of winter and the second was sitting on our door mat when I got home one evening! We kept them until late spring when they kept trying to escape their decked out tank. The "wild" was calling them home and we let Bob Jr. go first, then Fat Albert a few weeks later. It wasn't easy for me to let Albert go, but I finally did because I knew our yard was his home and he would be happiest out there.
Have you ever had someone in your life that made an impact on you, and you thought you'd stick with them forever, but they eventually left? Not necessarily on bad terms, but you drifted apart. There are some people that I think about who I haven't seen in a while and I try to call or message them but the Holy Spirit says "no". When He does this I know that my time with them is at an end, or they will be brought back into my life later.
"People can plan what they want to do, but it is the Lord who
guides their steps."
Proverbs 16:9
For all we know the great time we have had with someone could turn bad later on down the road, or we could be so wrapped up in that person that we can miss the next thing God has for us. We might even be keeping them from going to the next person they are to minister to. Even though we can't wrap our minds around the "why" we don't have to, we just need to trust the One that sees the big picture!
The Lord says, “My thoughts are not like yours.
Your ways are not like mine.
Just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways,
and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts.
Your ways are not like mine.
Just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways,
and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9
Yes, there are times the Lord says, "Go after them", and there are other times He says, "Let them be". If you already know that the Lord is telling you to let someone in your life go but you haven't let go, I encourage you to do so. If it's that friend who has poured a lot into you and you can't see living without them, don't worry, the Lord will bring others into your life to keep building you up. If there is someone you have been mentoring/disciplining that he says to let go, don't worry, He will give you the new assignment of someone to pour into!
And if you haven't gotten your answer yet keep asking, the Lord will light your path and make the answer known. Whether your answer is "go after" or "let them go" know that it is all in the Father's hands and He has the best in mind for both of you!
“Continue to ask, and God will give to you. Continue to
search, and you will find. Continue to knock,
and the door will open for you. Yes,
whoever continues to ask will receive. Whoever continues to look will find. And
whoever continues to knock will have the door opened for them.”
Matthew 7:8-9
