Compromise

That is a dangerous word for a Christian! Let's see what the definition of this word is:
noun
1.a settlement of differences by mutual concessions; an agreement reached by adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims, principles, etc., by reciprocal modification of demands.
Wow, did you see that? "an agreement reached by adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims, principles, etc."
Do you ever have a hard time figuring out what is right? If you have to convince or argue with yourself that what you are questioning is right then most likely it isn't!
I am not saying I am perfect and that I never compromise; however, I sure try my hardest to stick to what God says. I know some people say that figuring out what is ok and what isn't can be difficult, especially on topics the Bible doesn't directly talk about. There are enough warnings and teachings from Abba Father for us to get an idea of what is right. If I lean on/buy into "the Bible doesn't directly talk about this so I should be ok" that is like me saying "my parents/guardian didn't say I shouldn't do this exact thing so I should be ok and I won't get in trouble." After spending enough time with your parents/guardian you know what it is they will and won't allow you to do! It is the same with God; you spend enough time with Him (build your relationship with Him) and you will know what breaks the Father's heart, what He doesn't stand for and what pleases Him.
For a number of years I have watched as many Christians battle and promote compromise and it makes my heart so sad! God doesn't tell Christians to live sheltered lives or do everything the lost are doing as we go into the world to reach them. He tells us that we are His children and we are supposed to live like His children. There are certain functions/activities that we are not supposed to take part in. The big issues are easy to see, but even the "small stuff" that doesn't seem like it will have any affect on others or ourselves still speaks volumes.
15 But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves
in all your conduct [be set apart from the world by your godly character and
moral courage]; 16 because it is written, “You shall be holy (set apart), for I
am holy.”
17 If you address as Father, the One who impartially judges
according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in [reverent] fear [of Him]
and with profound respect for Him throughout the time of your stay on earth. 1 Peter 1:15-17
Recently, I have read too many articles, seen too many news stories and have talked with too many people who are confused about God and being a Christian. We in the Body of Christ need to go back to the ways of no compromise and show the world what Christianity God's way looks like; to stand firm in the Lord.
So I ask you, will you join me in walking out our Christian faith without compromise? Will you join me in doing our best to honor and follow God, to be the examples of holiness people need? We won't be prefect and never trip or stumble; however, when we make a mistake we will admit it, make it right and keep shining as non-compromising bright lights.
19 Do not quench [subdue, or be unresponsive to the working
and guidance of] the [Holy] Spirit. 20 Do not scorn or reject gifts of prophecy
or prophecies [spoken revelations—words of instruction or exhortation or
warning]. 21 But test [d]all things carefully [so you can recognize what is
good]. Hold firmly to that which is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil
[withdraw and keep away from it].
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and
through [that is, separate you from profane and vulgar things, make you pure
and whole and undamaged—consecrated to Him—set apart for His purpose]; and may
your spirit and soul and body be kept complete and [be found] blameless at the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22
