Have you ever asked God to break your heart for what breaks His? (Ezekiel 36:26-27) I pray this, not every day but often, so I can see where He wants to use me in actions and prayer.Sometimes I sit at a stoplight and look at all the cars going by and I find myself wondering how many of these people know Jesus? How many are dealing with sickness, home issues or just feel tired?
My goal right now is to read through the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, to take a good look at all Jesus did and said. I am still only in Matthew but it has been oh so good!
While reading and thinking on Jesus' words those who are lost and have not made Him their Lord have been heavy on my heart this week. Last weekend I got lost trying to find my way to a birthday party. What was worse is that I was lost at night in the rain! Even though I was on the phone with two people to help guide me I still felt uneasy, frustrated and like I'd never get to my destination! When I got home I couldn't help but think that how I felt is just a sampling of what those who don't know Jesus feel. The big difference is that they don't know the One who will guide them home or they don't know how to even ask Him.
Every time I have been lost while driving somewhere I called my dad and he guided me home. I knew he would help me and get me back to familiar roads and that is such a comfort! There are so many spiritually lost that need us to shine and show them the way; to Jesus. I pray that my light shines so bright that wherever I am at someone can come to me and I can lead them to the Savior. When people see you do they know you can help? As you go about your day I pray that the faces you see don't just pass by without a second thought, but that you open your heart to be used by God to be a road map and light in the darkness.
14-16 Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night so I’ll have good cause to be proud of you on the day that Christ returns. You’ll be living proof that I didn’t go to all this work for nothing.
