You keep on cruising along!

Okay, look at this picture and tell me what do you see? This was me on a recent road trip to see my cousin and this happens every time I get on the high way.

After I set the cruise control on the car to match the speed limit I relax a little more in my seat. Then I notice cars flying by me and I roll my eyes at these people speeding! Then I notice that there is no one around me. There are cars farther in front of me,

and behind me.

As I was sitting in this "empty zone" it got me thinking, how many times in our lives are we in this zone?

We find the "speed limit"of where the Lord wants us and we are working/doing what we are supposed to do, then after a while we see others zooming by us.

Three of your friends have gotten married.

Another friend has bought a house!

Someone you know got a promotion at work.

Your best friend has had their second child and you are still waiting to have your first.

After you notice all these people fly by you, looking around you see that there is another group of people behind you working to find the "speed limit" the Lord has for them.

My friend, do you or have you ever felt like you are/were in an "empty zone"?

Oh, I know I have. A few years back I went into the family room crying to my mom. I told her I felt like everyone else was moving along in their life and I was stuck! Oh my dear mama's face was shocked at first (concerned), then I saw her searching for the words to comfort me. She did comfort me. She told me to get with the Lord to see if I was doing everything He wanted me to be doing in this season of my life. If we aren't ready to handle what God has next for us then He will keep working on maturing us until we are! “He who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much; and he who is dishonest in a very little thing is also dishonest in much.
Luke 16:10

I had my alone time with the Lord and saw what I needed to straighten out.

Now, that was an example an "empty zone" in life. I praise God that I am not in an "empty zone" right now. I am in a "quiet zone". What is a quiet zone? I am at a great speed limit with God and as He adjusts the speed to go higher I push my foot on the gas pedal a little more. When I see friends speed by, I rejoice with them! I see where God is using me to help the others behind me and I make sure I don't slow down too much as I am helping. I am enjoying and learning all that I can in the "sweet quiet zone" I am in right now!

As I wrap this up let me ask you, are you in the "empty zone" or "quiet zone right now"? If you are in the "empty zone", Beloved, I encourage you to get alone with Lord and find out what all He wants you to be doing right now. Just because many people you know are zooming by you, it doesn't mean that God has forgotten you. He isn't overlooking you and maybe this blog post is Him giving you the answer to your "empty zone" feeling.

Are you in the "quiet zone"? If you are know that you are not alone! There are many others waiting to speed up to the next gear, and if you pray and look around you will see them. Then you can encourage each other! As you keep working at where you are at don't get distracted by slowing down too much to help others behind you, and don't go speeding off without the okay of you Father either. Continue to soak in every lesson, do your best in all you do and enjoy your time with your Father!

Whatever season/zone you are in don't take it lightly! There is plenty Abba Father has for you to do and He will keep you going!

I will bless the Lord who has counseled me;
Indeed, my heart (mind) instructs me in the night.
I have set the Lord continually before me;
Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my glory [my innermost self] rejoices;
My body too will dwell [confidently] in safety,
10 For You will not abandon me to Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead),
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.
 11 You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 16:7-11
