Ah, a brand new year! I am very excited about what this year holds for me personally. As I was thinking on the words to write for this blog post a thought came to me while I was doing my hair.
I decided to give myself a trim, and to do so I have to look in a mirror. As I was looking at my hairline it seemed a bit thin to me. I try my best to take care of my hair, which is very curly and gets dry easily. I wondered if my hair was breaking off or if my hairline was thinning because the ladies on both sides of my family do tend to have thinner hair at the top of their heads. As I was thinking about that I remembered my baby pictures. Looking at me as a baby, whose hair didn't thicken up until I was 2 1/2, would you have thought my hair would be as thick as it is now?
You couldn't tell from my beginnings that I would have a full head of hair. My beginnings looked bleak to be honest, but that was not the end picture!
So my friend, I ask you, what does the beginning of your new year look like? Does it look bleak? Have you lost a loved one?
Have you lost a job?
Are you not on speaking terms with the ones you love?
Are you confused and are not sure what the next step is?
Let me tell you, just because the beginning looks thin it does not mean that the year will not be full for you! Did you know that the number 8 means 'new beginnings' in the Bible? You are stepping into not just a new year, but THE year of New Beginnings! I pray that makes your heart race with excitement!
That means you can look forward to new family members; related by blood or adopted in!
Look forward to a new job that you enjoy and it is where God called you to be!
Look forward to relationships restored!
Look forward to learning God's voice and walking in a deeper relationship with Him!
Look forward to watching God open doors for you and lead you along the path you should go!
Oh this and more can be yours, but if you refuse God you will continue to walk in a 'thin' year. There must be surrender, commitment and a willingness to say yes to Abba Father. He knows what is best for you! Even if what He says doesn't make sense to you, trust that the One who knitted you in your mothers womb has the best in store and will lead you in a life of fullness!
I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
