Soar!

It was a very windy day in Texas on Wednesday and my comfy sweater was keeping me warm. I was listening to the radio and as I sat waiting in my car a huge bird soaring in the wind caught my eye. I always love to see these big birds (I am not sure what kind of bird they are) soaring! I see them all throughout the week and when I do this verse comes to mind:

But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him]

Will gain new strength and renew their power;

They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun];

They will run and not become weary,

They will walk and not grow tired.

Isaiah 40:31

On this day I took extra time to watch this bird and record the beautiful flight on my phone! It amazed me how this super windy day did not stop this bird or the others flying nearby. No matter the wind gust that caught it, the bird just changed its course and steered itself in another direction.

There were quite a few times the gust of wind this bird was riding on left and it soared down towards the ground, but with a few flaps of its wings that bird found another gust to take him higher and off he went!

Having a visual picture to go with a Bible verse brings it to life doesn't it! What a great reminder that if we "woke up on the wrong side of the bed", if our day is turning sour or whatever unexpected things pop up in life, all we have to do is adjust our attitude by leaning on Abba Father and we can keep going! We don't have to stay down. We don't have to have a pity party. We don't have to stay stuck; pray, adjust your flight and keep on soaring!

I hope you can see how this bird adjusts his flight and keeps going. It was so beautiful to watch!
