As I was scrolling down my facebook feed I came across a post of another blogger. She is a Christian and I really like a lot of her post, so when I saw this one I immediately clicked on it. As I read through her post I was confused! What she was talking about did not make sense and didn't seem to match up with the Bible.
Since I was pretty sure what she's saying isn't correct I showed the post to my mom (who is a Bible teacher) and she confirmed it. My mom also pointed out that this lady was redefining a word to fit her thought. My mom said "Just because we give something a new definition to fit in with our way of thinking - which is by far lower than God's way of thinking - it doesn't make what we say truth."
People, we need to know the Word for ourselves! There are false teachers and other people that either spout wrong or twist the word of God to fit what they want to say. If we know the Word for ourselves we won't be lead astray by wrong teaching and we will be able to warn others going the wrong way.
If you come across something that you are not sure is biblical, then go to an older brother or sister in Christ you can trust. I am not saying that they have to be older than you in age, but older than you in spiritual maturity; someone who has sincerely walked longer with God than you have.
As Christians we are continually growing in our relationship with the Lord and in knowledge. There is always more to learn! So whenever you have a question look it up in the Word/Bible for yourself asking the Holy Spirit to help you. If you still need help seek out a brother or sister in Christ. We are a family and we build each other up. Stay ready to help your siblings in Christ who have questions and stay humble for when you need to go to someone else to get the understanding on a subject or scripture.
Be blessed, beloveds!

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts higher than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

15 “Beware of the false prophets, [teachers] who come to you dressed as sheep [appearing gentle and innocent], but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them [that is, by their contrived doctrine and self-focus]. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the unhealthy tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore, by their fruit you will recognize them [as false prophets].
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:15-21
