I told myself I would never let anyone see this picture. Sigh, I gotta do it for the lesson!I LOVE the color pink! Especially pink shoes! Pink food, lipstick, clothes and animals always make me smile. I have had a lot of pink items over the years and last year I really wanted pink hair.
A couple weeks ago I decided to get my pink hair. Before I stepped out the door I felt the small voice of the Holy Spirit telling me not to buy the hair because I would not like it. I have wanted pink hair for so long and then God says I shouldn't buy it! I got still and the Lord told me to work with what I already have. I did not want to work with what I had because I was bored with my hair; however, I went online and looked at some pictures of ladies with different hairstyles and I decided on a style with twists. I realized they would look nicer if I purchased some gel and that got me more excited about my hair. I pushed my younger not at all interested in hairstyles brother out the door and took him to the store with me. ;)
I bought the gel and some deep conditioner to give my hair some extra moisture and love. I was happy with my purchase BUT the thought of adding just a teeny bit of pink to my hair seemed ok. I was still working with what I have just adding to it.
So, I dragged my brother over to the hair store and it took me a while to decide what hair to buy. I did not want to spend $7.00 but I did. I got home, washed my hair, conditioned it, and then went to styling it. It took me a looooong time to finish my hair! When I was done with it I didn't even like it! I had to go to the store and to a musical that day so I covered my hair with a scarf. All that time and $7.00 wasted!
I should have listened to the Holy Spirit. He knows best. He knows that I don't look good in pink hair!
I pray that this story makes you smile and remember to trust God as well. When you feel the Holy Spirit pulling you to go another way don't be stubborn, listen and obey even if you don't know why. Abba Father knows best, so let us follow where He leads and do what He says.
Be blessed, beloveds!
Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart
And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
6
[b]In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him,
And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].
7
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord [with reverent awe and obedience] and turn [entirely] away from evil.
