Give me your heartbeat!

This is a post that has been long in the making. I didn't want to write or sing about it because I
thought it too silly, and the more I thought about it the more painful it got.

My family has at least one movie night a month and this time we chose to watch Jurassic World. I had heard that this was sad and surprising, but since we have watched all the Jurassic movies I wanted to watch this one as well. (Disclaimer, if you haven't watched the movie this will spoil some of it for you)

I cried when it came to the part where the volcano exploded and the dinos were jumping in the sea to save themselves. I cried again when the main characters barely made it to the boat and looked back at the island watching that poor long neck dino/Brontosaurus call out for help!
We needed to clear our snack plates or something so we took a break and I was glad. I went to the bathroom and wept! I was ashamed to be crying over a dino and movie that wasn't even real! Then I thought about what was/is real; every day there are people dying who have not accepted the Lord.

That image of the poor dino has stuck in my heart ever since I watched that movie. There is a dying world that we are commissioned to reach. Yes, people can be rude and disrespectful and that can make it intimidating to witness to them, but Jesus loves them the same as you and I. He came and died to save them and we are the tools/way that someone will be reached today!

So my brothers and sisters, let us not sit on our hands and refuse to reach out to those God has called us to. No matter how they treat us, look at us or talk about us we better not be quiet. We better not look the other way. We better not end another day not doing all that we could have to reach/touch someone.

Let us pray for God to give us His heartbeat. Be blessed, beloveds.

9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

John 10:9-11

 Heartbeat

v1. Is this how it feels to be broken, when Your sheep strays far away?

Is this how it hurts to be rejected, when the lost go their own way?

. How did You bear the cross? How did you deal with the loss?

v2. Is this how it feels to be broken, when no one goes where You send?

It this how it hurts to hear the hearts cry, but none will go and be a friend?

. How did You bear the cross? How did you deal with the loss?

bridge. Take my heart and let it be, mold it and bend it, let it look like Thee.

Take my words and let them flow, with Your anointing and Your Spirit so everyone will know.

. Oh the cross You bore it! Every sin you died for it!

end. So move in me and give me Your heartbeat.
