Every day is a new day with You!

Haha, I have another lesson from the sink! While I'm washing dishes I am stilled and it is a great
opportunity for the Lord to pour into me.

I bought my mom a new coffee cup for Christmas and I am happy that she likes it! It was my first time washing the cup since she got it and I was extra careful washing it. When I got to our "old" coffee cups I realized I scrubbed them harder and placed them on the drying mat with a little more force.
I thought to myself that wasn't a good thing; those cups serve us well and I should be just as careful with them. That got me to thinking about our relationship with God. When we are babes in Christ our walk is so blissful as we are finding out more about our new love! Having time for prayer and Bible reading is easy and every little blessing is amplified!

What about our relationships with God now? Do we look forward to our prayer time, or do we squeeze in 10 minutes and run to the next task?
Do we look forward to reading our love letter, the Bible, or do we rely on the "verse of the day" and Pastor's Sunday sermon verses as our Bible reading?

Beloved, it is easy to let this world get in the way of who should be first in our lives. Work, technology, children and friends are just a few of the many things that take up our time. How much of that time are we spending one on one with our Creator? Just because our relationship isn't "new" anymore does not mean that it is any less beautiful!

As we step into this new year maybe you have made new year resolutions. I gave up making a long list of resolutions a while ago but there is one I strive for every year; to get closer to God. To fall more in love with Him and walk in step with Him, and that no matter what the world throws my way: He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
Psalm 62:6

I pray that you treat your relationship with God as you did when you first came to Him. That you stand on the rock of our salvation and live boldly for God!
Happy New Year and be blessed, beloveds!
