Yesterday my mom asked me to help hang up some curtains so I got the step stool out and went over to our big beautiful windows. I looked at them and noticed how dirty they were. I thought to myself it would be a shame to put curtains up to frame dirty windows, so I got out the window cleaner and some newspaper. After I finished one window I realized it needed more cleaning, so I got a bucket of soapy water and a rag and went at it again. Much better!
After I finished all the windows I noted they were still dirty because of the dirt on the outside of the windows. I went outside and cleaned those sides of the windows as well. Once my task was complete I was satisfied with our clean windows and proceeded to put up the curtains!
As I was cleaning more windows today the song Open the eyes of my Heart by Paul Baloche came to mind. It's hard to see the world through God's point of view if our spiritual lenses are dirty. Maybe your spiritual lenses have been dirty for a while but you could still see somewhat, so why clean them? Oh dear one, you are missing out on the view!
Once you wash your spiritual lenses through the reading of the Bible and applying it to your life you will be able to see people and situations in your life more clearly as God does. With clean spiritual lenses you will have more compassion, see what is going on and let God prune people out of your life, let God fight your battles and grow deeper in love with Him. All this and more can happen from cleaning those spiritual lenses!
If your spiritual lenses need cleaning then get to it! Yes, you have to do the work, but the view afterwards is worth it.
Be blessed, beloveds!

22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
Matthew 6:22-23
Deal bountifully with your servant,
that I may live and keep your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold
wondrous things out of your law.
Psalm 119:17-18
