Waiting can be difficult! Especially when you don't have a time frame. It is easier to wait when you know something is coming in 24 hours. It is easy to wait when something is coming in one week. It is a bit tough to wait for something for a month and when it takes longer than that the waiting gets harder.
We have an estimation of when our wait to go out and about is over and I know just about everyone is ready to leave their houses! I never thought Covid-19 would keep us in our homes. I have been watching my calendar closely awaiting the next date they give us of when we can gather again.
I have also been watching the calendar for the promises God has given me that haven't come to be yet. I am still waiting to meet my husband. I am still waiting to move to Rwanda, Africa. I am still waiting for the ministry/job God has for me there.
I am so excited for what is next but I am not sitting down, drinking some tea and just waiting on God to move; I am doing what He has called me to right where I am!
While I am waiting I see how God is building the different skills He has blessed me with. I am learning how to take care of a home with joy. I am learning how to teach. I am learning how to show love to people who receive love differently than I do. I am learning how to be a leader. I am learning how to communicate and show love to my husband.
You may be waiting as well. Not just to get out of your house, but for what God has promised you. I want to encourage you not to give up hope! If God said He will do it then He will! We have the choice to walk away from what God wants for us when we get tired of waiting and choose to do something our own way. That isn't God not delivering His promise, that is us not being patient and missing out on what God had planned.
I play this song a lot because it is a great reminder to keep trusting in God and to seek Him on what I should be doing while I am waiting. I pray that today's song While I'm Waiting by John Waller will strengthen you and encourage you to not give up on God but to keep waiting as well. If God has said it He will surely do it!
Be blessed, beloveds!

God is not man, that he should lie,
or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it?
Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
Numbers 23:19
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2
