I was getting ready for bed last week when the Lord told me "it's time to write again"; so here I am!
I asked the Lord what He wanted me to share with you and He reminded me of a dream I had on May 13th of this year.
In this dream my friend and I went to the mall in our town to vote. We had to walk all the way to the other side of the mall to get to the voting spot. The line was long so we had to wait a while. When it was our turn my friend showed the voting attendant her voting card and was let through. I didn't have mine with me but I did have my driver's license/ID. I handed it to the lady and she scanned it.
I looked at the voting attendant's computer screen and on it was lots of information about me that I never knew was on my driver's license! It contained all my voting history and public information about me like all the places I have lived. Then the lady asked me two questions and one of them was did I drink. I told her "no". The attendant could tell that I was a Christian and she asked me what I drank for New Years to celebrate if I didn't drink alcohol. I told her I ate a lot of chocolate and we both laughed!
The last part of the dream is funny and true. I don't drink and I do eat a lot of chocolate; however, I want y'all to pay attention to the part of the dream where my ID was scanned and I was asked two questions that showed I was a Christian.
If people look at your voting history can they tell you are a Christian? Does the way you vote show that your morals and convictions align with God's?
There are a lot of issues in this world that are clearly shown to be right or wrong simply by looking at the Ten Commandments which we find in God's word. Then there are other issues that go off into gray areas but you can still know if they are right or wrong by studying the Bible.
As Christians we do not have an excuse of saying that we don't know how to vote. With Bible study, prayer and doing your research on the candidates you will find your answers!
I also believe that we as Christians should vote whenever we have the chance, for if we don't we have no room to complain about who is voted in that is detrimental to our country, state, county or town.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, I encourage you to go vote. Do so prayerfully and ask the Holy Spirit for help if you need it. As you vote ask yourself if you are lining up with God's will or if you are going your own way. Let all you do be done for the glory of God.
Be blessed, beloveds!
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that[b] they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16
