I love camp! Loved going as a teen and I love the thought of Christian camp where you can have fun, make friends, make memories and be in an environment where the focus is on God all week. It has always been a great way to be reignited and walk deeper in my walk with the Lord alongside others in my youth group.
When I first heard of the opportunity to work at summer camp I thought it was neat but I could never do it; I have too many medical issues and I just wasn't strong enough.
I kept hearing about the need for workers and was praying for God to provide them. Lo and behold He chose me!
I had some reservations about it, but I know I can trust my Lord and whatever He calls me to He will give me the strength to do it.
I have been at camp for about a month now and I am amazed every day! God has been taking care of me and giving me the strength I need. Whenever I feel like I need a break someone comes along and gives me one without me asking. When I don't think I can walk any farther someone pulls up in a golf cart (I love those things now!) and cheerily asks "do you want a ride!" I can eat and enjoy the amazing food here because the beautiful lady over the kitchen called me before I came to camp and made sure she knew exactly what I can and can't have. That makes such a difference! I have seen so many beautiful and awesome sights, so many critters and I have gained an incredible family! It is awesome to be at a place where the mission is to "Provide an environment for people to meet God" and where we are all on the same page in making that happen.
We encourage each other, pray for each other and keep each other accountable. It is amazing and I am so blessed!
If I had said no and gave into fear I would have missed out on a great chapter that Abba Father wants to write for me. I am thankful that along with spiritual growth, experience and work ethic I can also include all the many ways God has moved and answered prayers in this testimony.
When you are walking in God's will you can do it! No matter how crazy it sounds and no matter what people think, as long as God has called you to it you listen to Him. Watch the beautiful chapter unfold that He has written for you and proclaim His glory!
