What do you do when everything around you falls apart? I had never really experienced this; however things started to fall in my family in a matter of weeks.
It's a pretty crazy timeline of events and I made sure to take note of it all because it's part of our testimony! Here goes:
Robert is my dad
Valorie is my mom
Stephen is my brother
And then there's me
June 26th Robert taken to hospital by ambulance for internal bleeding
June 29th Stephen gets in a car accident
July 6th Robert has abdominal surgery
July 10th Stephen starts feeling bad
July 10th Robert comes home from hospital after a successful abdominal surgery!
July 12th Stephen goes to doctor and is positive for covid
July 13th Charlie (our dog) has to be put down because of doggie sickness
July 14th Alissa is positive for covid
July 14th Stephen has to go to hospital by ambulance
July 19th Stephen has to be sedated and intubated
July 21st Valorie is positive for covid
July 22nd Alissa has to go to hospital by ambulance
July 26th Robert goes to ER to get checked, sent home
July 28th Alissa released home on oxygen
July 28th Valorie admitted to hospital
July 31st Robert admitted to hospital
August 2nd Valorie released home on oxygen
August 6th Robert released home on oxygen
August 10th Valorie and Robert are much better!
As of today my brother is still on a ventilator and the doctors are taking his care on a day by day basis.
There was a lot of sickness, stress, tears, frustration, tiredness and lots of waiting that happened/is happening, but through it all I can still say that Jesus is Lord and I will forever praise Him! There was no other way to get through all this without my Lord. I had to be quarantined and by myself a lot. Those times were lonely and that is when I leaned on my Lord the most and He was certainly right there with me. He comforted me, stopped my tears and I didn't feel alone.
My faith has definitely been strengthened through all this. My family is closer than ever! We have seen the Lord working in so many ways:
Through getting better and stronger.
Through the MANY people saying they are praying for us.
Through the meals delivered to us by family and friends.
We haven't had to pay for groceries for a whole month!
Through the cards of love and encouragement that have come in the mail.
Through the texts that come daily of friends and family checking on us and letting us know we are on their minds and in their prayers.
My God is faithful and He has stood beside us through this fire. I know not what all He is doing, but I trust Him and I continue to walk with Him by faith even when what I see is dark.
If you need encouragement today look to the Rock, our Fortress, our Strong Tower, our Ever-present help in time of need, our Healer, our Deliver, and the list of His names goes on and on for whatever we are needing!
I pray that you find that you can't live without Jesus as well and make Him the Lord of your life.
Be blessed, beloveds!
a very present[b] help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord,
how he has brought desolations on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
10 “Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”
11 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
