Goats for Families

Muraho (Hello)!

My name is Alissa Griego and I am going on a mission trip to Rwanda in September of this year. One of the ministries I will be helping with is called Mt Hope. They currently have 20 kids enrolled in their school. As a way to help support these 20 families I am raising funds to buy each family a goat. The impact of just one goat goes further than you would think!

In Rwanda, especially in rural areas, livestock like goats and chickens are important. Because goats mature and quickly reproduce a family can get one goat and in that year that goat can have 2 or more babies. The family can take the extra goats to the market and get money to feed their family. In 2 years one family can have almost 10 goats!

The cost for one goat is $50. The total cost needed is $1000; however, if I can get 20 people/families to buy a goat for a family we can quickly have all the cost covered.

My friend Jean Claude, the founder of Mt Hope, received goats when he was in the Compassion program and it greatly blessed him. He knows first hand the impact a goat can have on a family!

Would you like to buy a goat for a family? I will accept cash or check, and if you make a check please make it out to me. All the funds will go directly to purchasing a goat. The deadline to help is July 16th. School starts August 4th and I will send the funds to Jean Claude so he can buy goats and present them to the families on the first day of school.

If you are not able to purchase a goat I would appreciate your prayers over Mt Hope and the beautiful families!

May God bless you!
