My Daddy told me where to go!

Last month my dad and I went to San Antonio for a day trip. My dad was going to an event and I was going to visit with my Grandma, so I was dropping dad off and driving by myself to Grandma's.

San Antonio is a big city and driving in it is intimidating at times!

When I dropped my dad off he told me to take the u-turn under the bridge and follow the road until I see the exit sign for Perrin Beitel. Then I needed to turn right and I would know where I was. He repeateed his directions twice and asked me to repeat it back to him.

I got in the car and turned on the gps for just in case. As I made the u-turn the gps told me to turn right. I said "no, my daddy told me to keep going straight".
I drove some more and again the gps said to turn. I said "no, my daddy told me to keep going straight".
The gps did it again and I was fustrated with it, so I turned it on silent.

It was taking a while and I hadn't seen the exit sign, but I knew my dad and his directions would not be wrong, so I kept driving.

Finally, I saw it! I had a huge smile on my face and turned off my gps because I knew where I was and how to get to Grandma's house from there!

I immediately thought of our relationship with God. He is always speaking to us and giving us directions, and when He does tell us the way we need to stick to it. The world and the enemy will send many people to tell us the way we should go instead of listening to our Father's directions.
It can be tempting to listen to all the other voices, especially when it is taking longer than we thought to reach our destination.

If only we would always say "no, my Daddy told me this way, so I am going to keep following His directions".
God's directions may look different than ours at times, but He is the one who knows the big picture and actually how to get there!

Let this be a reminder to you my friend to listen to what the Lord has said.
He is a good Father. He knows the way you should go in life, and taking His route will be less painful.
Rest in the confidence of your Father today!

Be blessed, beloveds!

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. James 1:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps.
Proverbs 16:9

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord. Jeremiah 17:7
