I am going back to Rwanda!

When you let God lead you the journey can be quite amazing!

In only a week and a half I have met with two Rwandan pastors and the mission pastors at Temple Bible Church, have been invited to join their mission trip to Rwanda in June, there are plans to meet with a job opportunity and I have more than half the funds raised for this trip. God is AWESOME!

That is the condensed version of the story. Let me give you some more information:

God has put the call of ministering in Rwanda, Africa on my heart since I was 16 years old. I am now 32 and have had the privilege of going on mission trips twice! The Lord has continued to say that my mission field is Rwanda so I have been looking for opportunities to stay there long term.

God has given me stepping stones leading me to His plan and how He is unfolding it all is amazing!

The most recent step has been going to Temple Bible Church here in my city. They have a sister church in Rwanda, Africa that they support. TBC goes on yearly mission trips to Rwanda supporting and ministering with their sister church in Base which is located in the northern countryside. Pastor Salathiel serves there and his son, Jean Baptiste, serves in Kigali. This is a city ministry located in Rwanda's capital.

I asked the mission pastors about opportunities to serve in Rwanda long term and it "just so happened" that the two Rwandan pastors they support were coming to our city to visit! They told me they would like to meet with me when they got here and I was so excited.

At the meeting we had a great time talking about Rwanda. Pastors Jean Baptiste and Salathiel told me of people they know that would most likely be willing to hire me. Once I have a job lined up I can apply for my visa and was told that process would be very easy. We then began to talk about the upcoming mission trip, and the TBC mission pastor’s told me it "just so happened" that someone who was going on the yearly trip had to back out and they had an opening to bring another person on the trip. Even though the mission trip is quickly approaching, TBC invited me to join them and told me that they would introduce me to the people they have in mind and get me connected! God is so good and amazing!

God has given me confirmation that going on this trip is the next step. The mission trip is June 20-31 and the cost is $3,000 including everything except meals during layovers and spending money. Even before I went into the meeting with the pastors the provision of funds had already started coming in!

Before I went in that meeting I got a message from Immanuel Baptist Church's administrate assistant to see if I had time to talk. I let her know I had a meeting but was free afterwards. When I called her she told me that they heard of the news of a possible mission trip was coming and the church wanted to support me. I was blown away; God had the funds for the trip already in motion!

A taco dinner was served, cake was had and all the love poured over me was amazing! I received hugs, blessings, words of encouragement, cards and monetary gifts that totaled almost half of my trip cost! It was something this heart needed and is so appreciated!

There are others who have given to me and the only amount remaining to raise is $1,115.

All this happened in just over a week! I am still in awe of what God is doing and I am oh so thankful.

As always I will keep you updated and I look forward to being in Rwanda once more. Being 8,000+ miles away from what you love is very hard; soon the distance will not be an issue!

Be blessed, beloveds!

O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;

For His compassion and lovingkindness endure forever!
