Day 1

We have been having a wonderfully blessed time!
There is nothing like waking up to a view of your mosquito net and knowing that you are really somewhere else. 😊

One of the things I love most about Rwanda is the scenery. Everywhere you look there are hills and the view is different and breathtaking, even in town.

After breakfast our first stop of the day was at Cross Over camp in the city. Even I who do not call myself and athlete was able to assist my station leader as we taught basketball defense skills.

There are some VERY talented guys and girls! They all had some pretty good sportsmanship and really enjoyed the drills and games.

Lunch was at Meze Fresh which was delicious as always! It is always nice to sit upstairs and have a view of the city while eating lunch.

After lunch our two teams split to our two groups and headed to Impact Clubs-Vacation Bible School clubs.
Kids ministry is always a beautiful thing! We really enjoyed coming alongside their leaders who are doing such a good job with the kids. We sang songs in English and they sang songs in Kinyarwanda which was really neat. Our Bible story was about Moses when God called him from the burning bush and Moses just didn't think that God could use him! But Moses finally said yes because he could do what God called him to because God was leaning on God's strength and not his own. It was a great reminder for us all to rely on God's  strength and not our own, that we can do whatever God calls us to because God gives the ability to do what He calls us to!

Outside we played Red Light Green Light and Mr Lion. Mr lion is a new game I learned that is a really fun tag game!
Once outside we had cookies for snack time and gave them all a bracelet that says "Jesus loves you" in Kinyarwanda.
For craft time we made butterflies and parachute people with coffee filters and pipe cleaners.

Dinner time was at an Italian restaurant called Sole Luna. Absolutely delicious!

We came back to our hotel to debrief and talk over the day and we were met with a gorgeous sunset and night view.

God is so good and I am thankful for all the people we have met so far and the many ways we have been able to share Jesus with them.

Thank you for coming with us on this journey, for your encouragement and your prayers!

I look forward to sharing the next days with you, God bless!!
