Day 7

Day 7 was the second day of Pastor's Conference, Women's Conference, watching the women's kids and school visits!

The different ministry opportunities were just as amazing as yesterday!

Our interpreter Solange for the Woman's Conference with Julie from our team

Playing with the kids definitely was one of the highlights for all of us!

A picture of our team with the pastors and ladies that attended on conferences.

Some of us did something a little differently at lunch time, instead of all of us getting on the bus and driving to the nearby truck stop where we would have lunch sometimes, a group of us walked to it. It was a nice trek and we had at least 20 little cheerleaders walking with us, haha!

Walking over the suspension bridge was interesting!

After the bridge we took a little dance break!

And lunch was delicious!

After lunch some of the team stayed for the end of the Pastor's Conference and the rest of us went to visit a high school. It was really neat to hear from the headmaster, who is a preacher, of the progress that has been made at the school. He told us there were a lot of undisciplined youth when he first started, so they started having Bible studies and looking at how God wants us to live and the kids became better. What a testimony!
My teammate Jerry shared his testimony and presented the Gospel. Then the students asked to hear from some of the youngest in our group: people who were 14, 17, 19 and 26.
They shared why they wanted to come to Rwanda, how the trip has been so far and what God has been teaching them.
Then one of the youth shared his testimony. He told us that he used to do a lot of different sins, but then he started reading the Bible and saw how he should live. That he wanted to live for God. Him singing and being in choir is a big factor to him staying away from even thinking about the sinful life he used to live. He was even the leader of the choir at the school! He thanked us for coming and it was really sweet.
One of the teachers spoke as well. He told us that even with it being difficult to include religious studies as much as they can, they make a point to discuss deep talking points, they will study subjects the students have questions about, they have daily devotions and prayer meetings three times a week.
Praying at the end in a huge circle was such a blessing.

I only have two pictures because I was trying to stay in the moment. I took a picture of two areas they train students in:

This is where they teach students construction

This is where they teach students car mechanics and technical skills.

I will end this post with just one of the amazing views. It was quite a full day and all glory and praise be to God!
