I have learned that I am a visual learner. I do best when things are explained through actions or pictures. I think that is one reason I love blogging and sharing lessons or stories through pictures on social media. It is because I am excited to share in the way I learn best.
I took this picture as I was driving home after Bible study the Tuesday before I left for Rwanda and it seemed to be the perfect representation of how my journey is going.
I was driving on country roads and I had to take my time because I could only see what my headlights showed me. I couldn't see further down the road even though I would have liked to have seen what was coming up.
My journey of living, working and serving in ministry in Rwanda has taken 9 years! A lot longer than I ever thought it would take.
As much as I would like to see what the plans are that God has, all I can do is take my time, and take the next step.
Taking one step at a time will surely get me there, at exactly the right time that God has already written out.
I am so thankful for all the friends I have made along the way, the connections made and strengthened and for all God has taught me. He has surely shown Himself faithful time and time again!
If you are "walking by faith and not by sight" (can't see what the next step is) or you are hoping you are almost there to the next part of the journey God has for you, let me encourage you!
God is good, His timing is better than ours and when you get to that end goal it will be worth it.
Let's prayerfully lift each other up and keep on going.
Be blessed, beloveds!
for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]. 2 Corinthians 5:7
Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart
And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
[b]In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him,
And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].
Proverbs 3:5-6
4 Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentle spirit [your graciousness, unselfishness, mercy, tolerance, and patience] be known to all people. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]. Philippians 4:4-7
