It is with great excitement that I am letting you know I am going back to Rwanda! I will be there for the month of October and I am looking forward to working with Blessing School For The Visually Impaired.
I enjoyed being able to meet and talk with some of the students when my team from church visited in June. We were also able to meet Bosco Ntakirutimana who founded the school.
Bosco used to be a translator for our church ministry groups and they have known him for a number of years. Bosco and his wife have a daughter who was born with visual impairment. With a mission of making sure his daughter was equipped with all she needed to navigate in the world he started BSVI and now is able to help other families equip their children as well!
When it comes to the funds for this trip, God has blessed me greatly by providing two homes that will host me while I am in Rwanda. That cuts down my expenses immensely!
I asked Bosco what needs the school has and he says:
"The kids struggle to get shoes and socks. Since it is difficult to know their sizes we will buy them over here in Rwanda. $350 USD will be enough for both shoes and socks for the 35 kids we are anticipating the need of footwear for. We also need 3 small local guitars to help the talented kids to learn music. These 3 small guitars can cost around $150 USD!"Total funds to raise is $500 US dollars.
I am looking to raise the funds to cover buying the shoes, socks and guitars. Any funds received that surpasses the goal will go towards my plane ticket which is about $1,200.
I appreciate any sized gift, and if you can't give financially I greatly appreciate your prayers! As always I will keep you all updated and make sure to include plenty of pictures!
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures in this blog. They are from when my church team and I visited in June.
Blessings to you all!
