One month

Wow, I can hardly believe that I have been in Rwanda for one month! It feels like I got here yesterday, but the time has also been filled with so much. Let me share my month with you!

I always get asked about the food so let me share some of it with you.

The doughnuts here are one of my favorite sweet treats, and the coffee is amazing!

Isombe - cooked casava leaves - is one of my favorite foods. It is great over white rice!

After a couple weeks I was craving some pizza. Doesn't taste like in the US but still very delicious (and beautiful!)

Fried plantains are one of my favorite foods as well. Sometimes a meal has no meat and it is very refreshing to have a lighter meal.

Ice cream is very fluffy and creamy here, and always taste better when shared with friends!

We went out and celebrated with a "family meal" of chicken fried rice, "chips" (fries) and salad one night. A very festive looking dish!

Fish curry is another favorite dish of mine!

Visiting with friends and soon-to-be family has been a blessing!

And the beauty of Rwanda continues to keep me in awe!

A good bit of wedding planning has taken place and the pieces are coming together. 🩷

God has been so faithful and good. I have been learning a lot and God has been giving me many lessons. Taking tasks a week at a time and day by day is the pace of life that I am going by and it is very nice. Every week is a new adventure, new lessons and is full of memories.

I am looking forward to this next month. All glory be to God!

How great is Your goodness,
Which You have stored up for those who [reverently] fear You,
Which You have prepared for those who take refuge in You,
[c]Before the sons of man!

Be strong and let your hearts take courage,
All you who wait for and confidently expect the Lord.
Psalm 31:19,24

  1. Blessing, blessings among you, your new family, and all the others in the ministry. Thank you so much for sharing all the beautiful pictures with me. It excites me to see and hear what God is doing with the ministry, and teaching you new things daily. Maybe, in the future, I can come and visit you, and this beautiful country. I'm excited to try many of the scrumptious food you shared. It's all in His timing, and if it is his perfect will; I'm sure He'll bring it to pass. Please let everyone know at the school, that I continue to lift them up in prayers, that everyone will stay blessed, and that all of the needs of the school will be met. May God continue to bless you and Patrick. Looking forward to hearing about the food, country, and what God is doing in your life. Love you, Sis Kim!
