He's washing us!

I was washing the dishes and got the soapy water ready like I always do. I placed the glass cups in the water to soak a while and then I went to cleaning them. When I picked up the second glass a big chunk broke off and my hand scraped the glass where it broke. I was shocked! I looked at my hand and I found that it was just a tiny scratch. I placed the cup beside the sink where no one would get hurt then I continued washing the dishes.

As I looked at the bubbles I was reminded of my blog post "As white as bubbles and snow!" that I posted in July 2016. (I will link where you can read that blog post at the end) In that blog post I said that no matter how dirty we are God doesn't  think our dirt will mess up His soapy water. He takes us as we are and cleans us.

Do you know He uses people to help with the cleansing process too? Maybe a brother or sister in Christ will point out to you, in a loving way, that there are worldly habits you need to get rid of. Maybe a brother or sister in Christ comes over and helps you clean your house of movies and CDs that you no longer need to take into your eye and ear gates. Maybe a brother or sister in Christ listens as you cry out your frustrations. They give you encouraging words, scripture, and a hug and you leave feeling refreshed.

I encourage you to look out for those washing moments as you go about your day. See how the Lord washes you and gets you clean and see how He can use you to wash others.

Be blessed, beloveds!

11 And such were some of you [before you believed]. But you were washed [by the atoning sacrifice of Christ], you were sanctified [set apart for God, and made holy], you were justified [declared free of guilt] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God [the source of the believer’s new life and changed behavior].
